INDIVIDUAL DONATIONS are a vital part of the Alabama Marines Foundation fund-raising activities. It is a Foundation goal to work with and make regular grants to organizations and institutions that support Marines and Marine veterans and their families. The Foundation Temporary Financial Assistance Program is a prominent example of the type of grants available to Marine Corps veterans and their families in times of financial need. To assist Marines and members of their immediate families to attain their educational goals, the Foundation is a primary contributor to the Mike Spann Detachment, The Marine Corps League Endowed Scholarship at the University of Alabama. Over the past four years, the Foundation has contributed $40,000.00 to the endowment, which now stands at $70,000.00.
In 2015 grants totaling $13,000.00 were awarded to the Veterans Affairs Offices at the University of Alabama, Auburn University, Shelton State Community College, Stillman College, and Troy University in support of students attending those institutions under the GI Bill. Earlier, grants were awarded to the Tuscaloosa Rotary Club in support of its Honor Flight Program, to purchase special exercise equipment for a Marine in Jacksonville, Alabama who was paralyzed from a sniper’s bullet in Afghanistan, to the Semper Fi Community Action Task Force in Huntsville in support of that organization’s programs for local veterans, and during the past four years, the purchase of holiday meals for the residents of Clara Verner Towers, Tuscaloosa in support of their Veterans Day Program.

You may make a donation of any amount at any time, either as a one-time gift or by a regular, recurring donation. If you wish, your donations may be made in the memory of someone, and that person’s name will be displayed on the Foundation Memorial Donations Page (Click
Here). In such cases, along with your donation, please list the name of the deceased, his or her military branch, military rank or civilian title, inclusive dates of military service, and the major conflicts or wars in which he or she participated, if applicable.
DONATIONS MAY BE MADE IN ONE OF TWO WAYS. You may click on the donation button below to give by credit card, or you may mail a check to the Foundation to the address shown below.
