It is the sincere hope of the Foundation Board of Directors that your stay in the Camp be a safe and memorable experience. To that end, you will find listed below certain Camp policies and regulations to help ensure the health, safety and enjoyment of all. Please read them carefully to ensure that you, your guests and your vehicles comply with these rules and that you understand and accept them as a condition of occupancy of a parking space in the Camp.
Camp Guidelines
You will notice only token mention of rules relating to personal behavior while in the Camp. We expect that all campers will act in a mature and responsible manner and will not engage in personal behavior that might endanger others or interfere with their fun and enjoyment. Having said that, behavior to be avoided includes excessive use of alcohol, playing loud music after 9:00 PM, nighttime gatherings of large numbers of people, high speed driving (speed limit is 5 mph) within the Camp, and any other activities which common sense would suggest are not in the best interest of all campers.
Parking permits will be issued on the day of the first home game of the regular season. Permits must be displayed in the windshield of your RV and towed vehicle at all times when in the Camp. Permits are issued as “season passes” only. We do not issue passes for single games, which results in an “all Alabama” game weekend. The vast majority of our campers have been with us for several years resulting in many family friendships. If this is your first season with us, we hope that you find the camp a place that you will want to return to as well.
By Tuscaloosa City Ordinance RVs may arrive as early as noon Wednesday and stay until 2:00 p.m. Sunday following the game. For home games played on consecutive weekends only, RVs may remain in the camp between those games. By Tuscaloosa City ordinance, if there is no game the following weekend, all RVs must be off the premises by 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Any RV, for any reason, not moved by 2:00 Sunday, will be towed from the lot to a secure location at the owner’s expense.
Permits may not be sold by campers, or otherwise transferred to third parties. No permit holder is authorized in any instance to transfer his/her permit to a third party.
All vacant spaces during any game weekend, whether assigned or not, remain under the exclusive control of the Alabama Marines Foundation and the RV Camp Coordinator for assignment or use as deemed appropriate.
All persons registering for our Camp must sign our Release from Liability Form. Registered campers are responsible for all actions of family members and guests. Please provide this signed form to AMF along with your application. By entering the Camp, you, your family members and guests acknowledge that you and they do so at their own risk. The Alabama Marines Foundation is not and shall not be responsible for any damage, loss, or destruction to your vehicles and personal property while in the Camp.
One RV and one towed vehicle will be allowed in the Camp with each parking space permit. Permit holders are not authorized to reserve (bloc) spaces for other permit holders. All space assignments are made by the Camp Coordinator and will remain for the entire season. The space assigned to each camper for the first game must be occupied for each subsequent weekend during the entire season.
RV parking spaces measure 20ft X 40ft. Vehicles must stay within the marked boundaries of the space and must be parked in such a way that adequate space remains between vehicles in adjacent spaces. Tents, awnings, and other additions to a space must not extend beyond the boundaries RVs must be fully self-contained. No service hook-ups of any kind are available.
Pads are required under jacks to prevent damage to the parking surface. The use of spikes, tent pegs, or stakes of any kind in paved areas is prohibited.
No open-pit fires are permitted within the boundaries of the Camp at any time.
Fire-lanes must be kept unobstructed by RVs, tow vehicles, and other camper equipment (awnings, grills, etc.). The Tuscaloosa Fire Department enforces fire lane regulations. These guidelines constitute prior notice that campers and their guests bear full personal responsibility for fire or law enforcement citations.
Pets are welcome in the Camp provided they have current vaccinations with an ID tag and are kept on a leash when outside the RV. Please pick up after your pet.
RV owners and guests use the premises as found. No warranty as to the conditions of the Camp or its security is specified or implied. No special security will be available in the Camp. Regular patrols by the City of Tuscaloosa Police Department and/or University of Alabama Police will be in effect on adjacent roads.
RV owners assume full responsibility for their vehicles and other property. Neither the Alabama Marines Foundation nor the property owner assumes responsibility or liability for damaged, lost, stolen, or misplaced items.
Clara Verner Residential building, surrounding parking lots, and roadways serving the building and the parking lots located directly to the west of the Camp are private property and not under the control of the Alabama Marines Foundation. Campers, guests, and children are not permitted to ride wheeled vehicles through or play in these areas. All campers and guests should stay within the RV camp except when entering or leaving the camp.
There will be a garbage dumpster and two portable toilets on site, but no other sanitary facilities. All trash must be removed prior to vacating your space.
The restrooms in Clara Verner Tower are for use of residents and their guests only. Campers and their guests are prohibited from entering those facilities.
No trailer-mounted cookers and smokers are allowed in the Camp.
Responsibility for Creation of Noise
Noise levels in the Camp, whether from generators or other sources, are regulated by Tuscaloosa City Ordinance, Sec. 10.8-13, Noise in Residential Districts, is incorporated in these guidelines: “General Restriction. It shall be unlawful for any person to use, operate or permit to be used or operated any device, radio, musical instrument, television, phonograph, drum, sound-amplifying equipment or device which produces or reproduces sound either stationary or mobile, in such a manner so as to create any sounds or noise which exceeds eighty (80) db (A) during the hours of 6:00 AM until 9:00 PM or which exceeds seventy-five (75) db (A) from 9:00 PM until 6:00AM at any property line within a residential district or upon any public street or right-of-way within or bordering upon any residential district within the corporate limits of the city.”
Any person creating any such sound or noise as described in this section and/or anyone permitting such a sound or noise to be created in, or emanate from, any premises under care, custody or control shall be presumed responsible for any such sound or noise. Portable generators will be allowed within the Camp so long as they do not exceed the noise levels stated in the ordinance cited above. Tuscaloosa City Police Officers routinely issue citations for violations of this ordinance and carry with them decibel meters. If a noise issue should arise in the Camp, TPD can be called to settle the matter. Campers are urged to check any noise-making equipment with decibel meters before entering the Camp to ensure compliance with the ordinance.
Camp management reserves the right to designate certain areas of the Camp as parking for specific types of vehicles, or vehicles which may not be in compliance with these guidelines, and to exclude other vehicles from those areas, as the situation may dictate.
By registering for a parking space, all RV owners, their family members, and guests agree to abide by the rules and policies contained in the Guidelines. Failure to abide these rules and policies may result in immediate revocation of your parking privileges without a refund.
